One Two Many

My BFA exhibition show, One Two Many opens on Friday, May 2 and will be up for two weeks. I am projecting a short video piece "On The Couch", showing "Want Some?" (40" x 60" digital print), and *giving away* 9 different postcards, 60 prints of each... So come to the opening on May 2 from 5 - 7 PM in the Fine Arts Gallery at the College of Santa Fe. You can't go wrong- free art, free wine.

In the press release my work is described as "addressing sexual politics in an almost Buster Keaton-esque kind of way." Having no knowledge of Keaton's work my research continues and this clip has been my favorite:

Growing Older With Shock Value

Alyson Titkemeyer is a brilliant documentarian. Her raw, honest and thought provoking projects address human vulnerability, interpersonal relationships and the construction of community.

I am blessed to have known Alyson for almost two years. Her blog reviews the Santa Fe art community and art students at the College of Santa Fe. She recently wrote an article about how my work has changed over the last two years: Growing Older With Shock Value.

MIN ONE: credit due

After some research, I recently unearthed the history and origins of the graffiti backdrop in my recent photographs. It is a large canvas work created by MIN ONE, a graffiti artist who worked in NYC from 1977 - early 80s. The work is owned by my amazing, creative and interesting roommate Anna Minzer.

His work is profiled in Style Wars, a documentary of New York graffiti circa 1983.

Ice Cream Face

I am realizing more and more that I am not a producer of work as much as artist who captures, a storyteller, and a re-interpreter of space around me.

CSF Student Showcase

Its not everyday being a freak wins you $1,000...

"Corn Love" (above) won first place in the "CSF Student Showcase". The work will be used as promotional recruiting material for the College of Santa Fe.

The College of Santa Fe loves cliches. Their "CREATE" campaign (image above) inspired my satirical submission.
